What types of mulch do you offer for installation?

We offer a variety of mulch options like natural brown, dyed black, and dyed brown. We also have different suppliers that offer double ground mulch or triple ground. Double ground mulch is only processed twice which leaves it more chunky. Triple ground mulch has been processed 3 times which creates a more finely textured look.

When is the best time to install mulch?

Accepted Answer

Mulch can be applied at all different times of the year, but is normally applied in the Spring and Fall. Properties that always want that fresh mulch look get the mulch installed at all times of the year.

How thick should mulch be applied ?

Accepted Answer

The normal thickness for mulch installation is 2"-4" but it depends on the landscape and how much much has previously been applied. Properties that get mulched multiple times a year to keep the fresh look only get .5"-2".

Does mulch ever need to be removed from my landscape?

Accepted Answer

It is recommended every 2-3 years to remove old mulch if the depth has exceeded 4 inches. An excess of mulch can become matted down and cause mold or prevent airflow/water to getting to the soil/plant.
